So, I needed to have it tested out. My senior editor, Lauren, helped me with this. Be sure to subscribe to our channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/seedtime?sub_confirmation=1 1️⃣► INTRODUCTION TO USERTESTING (00:51) As a tester, you review websites from large companies who are looking for feedback from those who visit their site. The tests vary in length, usually as little as 5 minutes up to about 30 minutes. Testers are paid $10 per tests, unless otherwise noted. To get started, click here: https://seedtime.com/2/usertesting.php 2️⃣► SIGNING UP FOR USERTESTING (01:39) Enter your email address on their home page. Click “Sign Me Up.” At this point you’ll be receiving an email from UserTesting, check your inbox! Once you confirm your e-mail address, then you can start your sample test. 3️⃣► RECORDING YOUR FIRST SAMPLE (02:13) UserTesting does require that you download some software. Once you’ve downloaded their software (their screen recorder), you will then be ready to record your first sample video! 4️⃣► CONDUCTING WEBSITE TESTS (02:57) Each time you have a test available, you will receive an e-mail from UserTesting support. In the e-mail, there will be information for you regarding the scenario of the website test, requirements etc. Once you log in from the clickable link in the e-mail, you then will be able to see what test is available for you. 5️⃣► YOUR USERTESTING DASHBOARD (03:24) Your dashboard shows you: tests that are available, your completed tests, information about your profile, the message center and success center. Note: This is also where you will visit after a test is complete to view feedback, rating and payment status. 6️⃣►AVAILABLE TESTS AND QUALIFYING FOR THEM (03:35) Each available test will show what device is needed to perform the test, sometimes you can just use your iPhone (yay!). You will have to perform a screener test to answer a few preliminary questions to qualify to be a tester on each available test. 7️⃣►STARTING THE TEST (04:25) Once you pass the screener test and accept to be a tester, UserTesting will give you the steps necessary for completing your test. Start your screen recorder and your test will then begin. All tasks required will be seen as pop-up screens throughout the test. PRO NOTE: Be sure to keep talking as you are taking each test. UserTesting is wanting your detailed thoughts throughout the entire process. This is a time where it’s encouraged to think out loud, and often! 8️⃣►TAKING THE TEST (05:57) Once you hit the start button, the test will begin! You will see your instructions in the pop-up window on the top right of your screen. Be sure to read them and complete all required actions! As mentioned before, be sure to think out loud and be descriptive as possible with your thoughts. As the test reaches completion, give your final thoughts and then sign out. 9️⃣ ►ONCE YOUR TEST IS COMPLETE (09:09) Your test will be uploaded once your test is complete. Don’t be alarmed, it does take a few minutes for the upload to complete. Once the test has uploaded, it will then be safe to close your testing window. Wahla! You’ve just completed your first test! 1️⃣0️⃣►VIEW YOUR COMPLETED TESTS (09:46) On your dashboard you will see that your test has completed. You will also see your payment status. Initially it will show pending. It will take about a week to see your payment. Also on your dashboard, you will see that you were given a rating for your completed test. You will also see feedback given to you regarding your performance. PRO NOTE: Be sure to pay attention to your feedback and rating.
