Canik METE MC9 vs The Micro Compact Pistol World

With the all new Canik Mete MC9 micro compact pistol hitting the market, there needed to be a comparison between it and the other well established pistols. Pistols in this size range oftentimes are a touch on the snappy side due to their small stature but they are perfect for everyday carry purposes. The Canik MC9 is the largest of the bunch but not by a noticeable amount. Someone would need to break out calipers to see or measure that difference. The Sig P365 and Taurus GX4 have the shortest grips in this segment. For carry purposes, all of these pistols conceal well and have good round edges.

The most controllable pistol of these 4 is a toss up between the Springfield Hellcat and new MC9 pistols. Then the Sig P365 and the Taurus GX4. With the most features and best overall value, the Canik takes the cake. It’s the only pistol of the bunch with ambidextrous slide release levers and a mag button which is as easy to press as a full size pistol. When working on precision shooting, the sights of the Sig P365 and the Hellcat are by far the best. The Sig and Springfield pistols feature colored front sights, whether its a fiber optic or night sight. In making precise shots on a steel hostage target, the Canik MC9 is the clear winner due to its incredible trigger with a crisp, clean wall and lower pull weight.

In shooting all of these pistols, they each have their own quirks. The Springfield Hellcat and Sig P365 have proven their worth over the last few years and are clear crowd favorites. The Canik MC9 improves upon a lot of the drawbacks with micro compact pistols and challenges the micro compact giants, possibly even unseating them and reaching number one. Try them all for yourself and pick which one shoots best for you. Maybe I like the MC9 or Hellcat the best, but if the P365, GX4, or even Smith and Wesson Shield or Glock 43 or Shadow Systems CR920 is your best shooter, run with it!
